BISTEG solar thermoelectric modules shade buildings to maximize energy efficiency while producing solar thermal energy to power them.

How this will impact Adelaide's carbon emissions

BISTEG, Building Integrated Solar Thermal Electricity Generation, intends to help Adelaide become the world’s first carbon neutral city by transforming wasted heat on vertical building walls into electricity while also increasing the energy efficiency of the building as an exterior shade structure. This of course, is the long term vision for the project that will be expanded and built through partnerships with local industries. The first step is a BISTEG demonstration wall in a public park or popular destination that will provide shade, interactive demonstrations of the technology, and promote the carbon neutrality goals of Adelaide!
