Home Energy Management System (HEM) that will be phone app based, and it will include forecasting of photovoltaic supply and also electricity demand.
How this will impact Adelaide's carbon emissions
There is good evidence that for renewable energy systems, especially supplying electricity to volatile markets, forecasting can reduce the need for balancing generators by 16-21%. Efficient use of storage as well will add to this reduction.
The reduction in the need for central generation of electricity will result in lowering of carbon emissions. One could potentially add the reduction not only in the operational energy but also in lowering the infrastructure requirements.
