The Ettridge Linear Electric Motor will improve Light Rail and Train services by reducing the amount of electric current consumed. It also has the advantage of having the electric current provided by batteries as part of the engine and carriages, so does not use an electrified track, or the problem if the track is not electrified, nothing moves on the track.
This is the only linear electric motor that uses both sides of the energised coils resulting in an energy efficient electric motor, with braking regeneration, improving efficiency.
