Ettridge Two Stroke Engine
The Ettridge Wet Sump Two Stroke Engine technology is state of the art.
How this will impact Adelaide's carbon emissions
The Ettridge Wet Sump Two Stroke Engine technology is state of the art. It uses good design to use the heat and pressure above the piston before the exhaust port opens, to preheat and super charge the new fuel mixture in the crankcase, while preventing the oil in the sump from moving into the combustion chamber, and being burnt.
This is achieved without using external super chargers, or additional pumping cylinders. It retains the high power to weight and low cost to power ratios of the simple two stroke engine, while delivering very low air and noise pollution levels, below the levels of a basic four stroke engine. With more complete burning of the fuel, the nitrogen dioxide (which attacks the Ozone layer) are lower, and the hydrocarbon and carbon dioxide levels are significantly reduced.
