The 10 Commandments
10 commandments describing 10 basic mandatory rules to be implemented across ALL commercial buildings, inside the limited region on target.
How this will impact Adelaide's carbon emissions
I decided to submit my idea regarding what is, for me, the main issue of carbon emissions in Adelaide, commercial buildings. As this represents 60% of total emissions, I considered this to be the critical point and core issue to be solved in the first steps of the challenge.
I do not bring any advanced and modern technology to be used. I do not bring a golden app that will change city's situation forever. I do not bring any miraculous mechanical invention that costs billions to implement.
I am a fan of KIS (keep it simple) approach so what I am bringing is something relatively simple to understand and implement. I also believe that a business/project/challenge without a strong and solid foundation it is not sustainable, thus, sooner or later, will dive into failure. Foundation in this case are PEOPLE. Yes, people. If we want to change how Adelaide situation is at the moment in relation to carbon emissions, we need first to change people. Somebody said "Change people and you will change the world".
In this case, what we need to change in people is their mindset. Make them understand the real situation, causes and consequences, so they can shift and start to be aware of their own behaviour and how it has consequences in carbon emissions environment.
We need to coach and train people first of all. This is the first commandment out of 10. Start from the beginning. The following commandments are described below.
